Old Communities Renovation in Xicheng District Wins High Praise from Residents
More and more old communities in Xicheng District have been renovated in recent years. In 2021, Xicheng District will mainly promote the renovation of 42 communities with an area of about 1 million square meters, and start the preparatory work for the renovation of 32 communities covering an area of about 520000 square meters.
In recent years, Xicheng District has carried out the renovation of many old communities such as No. 62 Pen’er Hutong and Xiaomachang Nanli Community. The renovation project mainly includes energy-saving renovation of the building, renovation of plumbing and drainage pipes in the building, comprehensive improvement of the community environment, road re-paving, improvement of outdoor lighting system, security system and other supporting facilities, as well as addition of garbage classification stations.
Xicheng District has been actively promoting the renovation of old communities, in order to make the residents live in a more comfortable environment. As of the end of 2020, a total of 6.2 million square meters of old communities in Xicheng District have been renovated, benefiting about 480000 residents, which accounts for about 44 percent of all the long-term dwellers in the district. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the renovation and environmental improvement project will be carried out in 178 communities, including 369 buildings with an area of about 2.17 million square meters. The whole renovation project is expected to be completed in 2025.
