2020 Beijing International Tea Expo to Open on Oct. 22
2020 Beijing International Tea Expo, 2020 Beijing Maliandao International Tea Culture Expo and 2020 Anhua Dark Tea Culture Festival (Beijing) will be jointly held at the Beijing Exhibition Center and the Maliandao Tea Street from October 22 to 25, the reporter learned from the press conference recently. Top tea products will be brought to the event, offering a grand tea feast to Beijing citizens.
1000 exhibition stands, more than 90% of which are specially decorated, will be set up in the 22000-square-meter exhibition area at the two-story exhibition hall. There will be exhibition areas for prefecture-level cities such as Huangshan of Anhui Province, Wuzhou of Guang’xi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Xianyang of Shaanxi Province and Tongren of Guizhou Province, as well as for more than 10 tea-producing counties such as Fuding and Fuan of Fujian Province, and Heng County of Guang’xi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Moreover, tea sets exhibition area, tea packing exhibition area, live-streaming selling area and other areas will also be set up. The tea event has attracted top tea companies from all over the country to take part in, selling 6 major types of Chinese tea, including green tea, black tea, dark tea, white tea, yellow tea, and oolong tea.
In order to prevent and control COVID-19 pandemic, the tea event will hold more online activities instead of on-site activities. For example, the "Maliandao Cup" National Tea Ceremony Competition will be changed into a video contest. Tea companies located in Xicheng District will launch live-streaming activities instead of on-site promotions. And online promotions themed with “the most beautiful tea space” will also be held. Live-streaming selling activities will be carried out to help tea-producing areas alleviate poverty, promote top tea brands, and promote tea sets, tea ceremony clothes, tea food and other tea products.
After years of development, the Maliandao tea street has become the most important tea culture area in northern China, with an area of 1.8 square kilometers. Over 10000 kinds of famous and high-quality tea products of 6 major types of Chinese tea across the country are sold in more than 10 tea trading and tea culture display areas, covering a total area of nearly 200000 square meters. And nearly 2000 tea companies mainly from China’s 12 major tea-producing provinces, including Fujian, Yunnan, Zhejiang and Anhui, open tea stores in Maliandao.
