Xicheng District Held Science Week online for the First Time
Artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, blockchain... Xicheng District Science Week 2020 features various highlights, and is held online for the first time. Citizens can take part in online activities and experience cutting-edge technologies just at home. The event will last until August 29.
High-tech products such as the "Beijing Health Kit" app and smart access control system help prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic, new models such as online fruit and vegetable ordering platform, online classroom and live-streaming e-commerce not only meet the needs of residents, but also give birth to a new mode of consumption. During the science week, citizens can experience the convenience in daily life brought by technology on the official website of Xicheng District, “Xicheng Home” app, kepuchina.cn, bilibili.com, and study.163.com.
Various cutting-edge technologies are also constantly contributing to economic and social development. Online VR panoramic viewing of houses, online marketing, online job hunting... Digital technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence and cloud computing connect online and offline activities, helping Xicheng District to resume work, production and school in an orderly manner. Moreover, Xicheng District grasps the current trend of the digitized, integrated and scenario-based technological changes, and promotes the full application of new equipment and technologies in its jurisdiction.
Xicheng District Science Week has been held for 20 years. In addition to activities in the main venue, more than 130 popular science activities will be held online and on site. Citizens can learn about technology’s role in waste sorting, public health, scientific education, fire safety and other fields through interactive experiencing activities, lectures, competitions, and movies.
