Fayuan Temple’s Lilac Poetry Reading Gathering and Lilac Calligraphy and Painting Gathering have already become Beijing’s famous cultural activities, and are also the cultural brands of Niujie Sub-district. Every year, many famous artists, calligraphers and painters come to the ancient temple to enjoy flowers, recite poems, present paintings and calligraphy works, and make friends. This cultural event not only provides a platform for calligraphy, painting, and poetry recitation artists and amateurs to learn from each other, but also offers ordinary people a chance to enjoy the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture.
