Winter Olympics-Themed Class Opens in Baizhifang Ice and Snow Sports Experience Center
To celebrate the fifth anniversary of Beijing’s successful bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics, Xicheng District’s Baizhifang Sub-district Ice and Snow Sports Experience Center invites 10 experts and scholars who are engaged in the promotion of Winter Olympics culture and ice and snow sports as lecturers to give lectures about the Winter Olympics to residents living in Baizhifang Sub-district.
The first online lecture was given by Professor Li Xiangru, a think tank expert from the Federation of University Sports of China, the first dean of the Leisure Sports College of Capital University of Physical Education and Sports, and the executive vice chairman of the organizing committee of China Urban Sports League. 30 residents interacted with Professor Li via live video, and learned about the process of bidding for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and the history of the Winter Olympics culture. The ice and snow sports experience center prepared some Winter Olympics licensed products as gifts. Professor Li asked 10 questions in the lecture, and the audience actively answered. Anyone who answered first and correctly got a gift.
According to the staff of the ice and snow sports experience center, they hope this online class will enrich residents’ home-based cultural life, and promote the Olympic spirit and the Winter Olympics culture. There will be another nine activities held, and residents will be invited to participate in.
