Online Cultural Activities Held to Enrich People’s Life amid Covid-19 Epidemic Outbreak


Since the whole country started to combat the novel coronavirus, Xicheng District Bureau of Culture and Tourism has made use of 17 online information platforms to carry out daily publicity activity and hold knowledge quiz about the epidemic prevention and control, to open online training courses and launch online cultural work appreciation activity, to organize traditional festival promotion and mass' art work interactive activity, and to launch audio and video live streams.

As of the beginning of April, Xicheng District Bureau of Culture and Tourism has used 17 online information platforms to post 2312 pieces of information on epidemic prevention and control policies and knowledge, which have been re-posted 6624 times and viewed 411500 times, as well as 1600 pieces of information on cultural activities, which have been viewed 650000 times.

In order to enrich the cultural life of the masses, Xicheng District Bureau of Culture and Tourism carried out online cultural activities, including online recruitment, online teaching, and online feedback. Currently, there are three online cultural training activities: online "Suspend Classes, not Suspend Study" class, Xicheng District No.1 Cultural Center's 6th weekend class, and "La La La" youth musical experience camp.

Xicheng District Bureau of Culture and Tourism has launched thematic columns online, such as "Watch Dramas online", "Percussion Appreciation", "Art Training", "Digital Resources", and "Artistic Workers in Action". 9 original plays, 3 percussion works, and 14 videos of outstanding works by artistic workers are available online.

Moreover, those digital resources have been shared to other platforms, including Beijing Xicheng, Shandong Culture Cloud Platform, Dalian Culture Cloud Platform, Heilongjiang Culture Cloud Platform, and Jinzhong (central Shanxi province) Culture Cloud Platform. From February 8th to February 29th, the digital resources have been viewed by 300000 people and re-posted by 50000 people.
