Residents Enjoy Colorful Activities at Home amid Epidemic Outbreak
At present, some sub-districts and communities of Xicheng District offer thoughtful cultural services to residents, adding fun into their home-based life, as many people often stay at home amid the outbreak of the novel coronavirus epidemic.
Under the guidance of Xicheng District Community Civilization Promotion Association, Taoranting Reading Station has created a "grandparents and grandchildren reading club" WeChat group to serve both elderly people and children. It’s a platform for learning, exercise and creation.
Dashilan Sub-district opens online courses for free, which are live-streamed on a WeChat mini-program. At present, there are dough figurine, calligraphy and diabolo playing courses.
Shichahai Service Center for CPC Members and Masses has opened an "online epidemic prevention" program on WeChat, covering epidemic prevention and control, psychological adjustment during the epidemic, fitness and regimen, and quiz about related knowledge. And the center also launched a recitation work collection activity online. Moreover, the center and some teachers have co-launched an “online mini class”, including handicraft course, introductory course on calligraphy and painting, reading activity, and so on.
Yitian Chorus of Chezhan East Street Community of Guang’anmenwai Sub-district teaches new songs two to three times a week, in order to enrich life of the elderly. People are divided into groups, each of which is taught by a teacher via video.
Niujie Sub-district Library holds an online riddle guessing activity. It asks residents six riddles a day every Monday to Friday since February 24, and residents answer on the WeChat group.
Some elderly people of Qibei Community of Yuetan Sub-district made some handicrafts to educate their grandchildren.
Hufanglu Community encourages children living in the community to express their praise and blessing to anti-epidemic heroes in the form of words and paintings. And the community has posted the children’s works onto the display boards in the community.
Women’s Federation of Xinjiekou Sub-district organized a painting collection activity online. Children wrote words and drew paintings about the prevention of the novel coronavirus, and their parents also joined in the battle against the epidemic.
