Scientific-Style Summer Vacation: Zhanlanlu Sub-district Held "Science Summer" Science and Technology Festival
Zhanlanlu Sub-district’s "Science Summer" Science and Technology Festival lasted for one week and came to an end recently. Children in this area enjoyed a scientific-style summer vacation by interacting with intelligent robots, experiencing programming, and making creative handiwork.
The science and technology festival contained exhibition, contest, and lectures. It started with a popular science exhibition, displaying 3D printers, 3D printing pens, jigsaw-type programming robots and other technological devices with the cutting-edge features of the times in three consecutive days. In addition, an interactive experience zone was set up in the exhibition. Meanwhile, teenagers could use scientific equipment such as microscope to explore the wonderful micro-world, and they also made boat models.
During the science and technology festival, Zhanlanlu Sub-district invited a professor from National Defense University of People’s Liberation Army to give children a lecture on the vast universe. A mental health expert from a hospital brought an interactive "auction" game on mental health.
22 communities of Zhanlanlu Sub-district organized cultural activities with their own characteristics during the festival. For example, Beiyingfang Xili Community organized children to learn to make pinwheel, Santa Community promoted environmental protection through an object-to-object exchange activity, and Hongmaogou Community organized children to learn to assembly robot.
More than 10 activities have been held during this science and technology festival, benefiting nearly 1000 teenagers.
