Financial Street Children’s Palace Held First "Enjoy Intangible Cultural Heritage" Cultural Festival
The First Financial Street Children’s Palace "Enjoy Intangible Cultural Heritage" Cultural Festival was held recently. More than 400 primary school students from the Financial Street area went to the children’s palace, where they learned about intangible cultural heritage items with Beijing’s local characteristics and got interested in them by visit and experiencing activities.
Gourd pyrography, woodcut New Year painting, handicraft Peaceful Swallow, traditional Beijing hawking... 15 intangible cultural heritage items were displayed in the festival, and students liked them very much. They also learned how to make waxfruit, velvet flowers and shadow play puppets.
Financial Street Children’s Palace has been promoting traditional Chinese culture among teenagers in the Financial Street area in recent years. It opens a "24 Solar Terms" course and sends teachers to schools to give lessons, which over 2000 students have taken. And it has organized students to visit 31 museums and participate in 20 tea gatherings and tea culture-themed lectures.
