5th China Original Drama Invitational Exhibition Opens
As Amnesty was staged at the Theater of the National Theater of China recently, the 5th China Original Drama Invitational Exhibition opened, which is co-organized by the National Theater of China and Xicheng District People’s Government of Beijing Municipality. 23 outstanding original plays selected from the whole country will be staged during the exhibition, to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
Founded in 2015, the China Original Drama Invitational Exhibition is a national drama event approved by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. It is also a project funded by China National Arts Fund. This year is the 5th year of holding this drama event. A total of 73 original works were collected from the country. After strict evaluation by experts, 20 for the grand theater and 11 for the small theater from Beijing, Shanghai, Sichuan, Hubei, Shaanxi, Liaoning, Jiangsu and Inner Mongolia stand out. 102 performances will be staged at the Theater of the National Theater of China, the Small Theater of the National Theater of China, the Xianfeng Theater of the National Theater of China and Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center in the next three and a half months.
This year’s exhibition still features low-priced ticket and public welfare performance. Tickets at the price of less than 100 yuan account for more than 50% of the total tickets, and the highest price does not exceed 380 yuan. Moreover, the drama event will bring performances to communities and schools. And some teachers and students, migrant workers and residents in Xicheng District will get free tickets of the performances.
