Introduction: Opened in 1959, the restaurant was named and approved by Zhou Enlai, a former Chinese premier, with reference to the proposal made by some former state leaders who were born in Sichuan province, including Zhu De and Chen Yi. With its horizontal inscribed board written by Guo Moruo, a famous contemporary Chinese poet and historian, the restaurant has become the largest high-end restaurant in Beijing specializing in the Sichuan cuisine. Over the year, the restaurant has received numerous state leaders and distinguished Chinese and overseas guests with superb cooking skills, unique flavor and excellent service.
