Zhongshan Guildhall is used to be a place for the youth to do revolutionary activities in early days, which was originally a place bought by Liu Hanyun, a Jinshi in Kangxi years of Qing Dynasty. In 1895, Tang Shaoyi, a then officer born in Xiangshan County, Guangdong Province, lived in the guildhall. Tang named it Xiangshan Guildhall. Later, Xiangshan County was renamed Zhongshan County, so the guildhall was called Zhongshan Guildhall. In 1912 when Sun Yat-sen stayed in Beijing, he met guests in it. Stages, gardens, rockery and corridors can be found in it.
