With a length of 1400 meters from east to west, Fuchengmen Street Area has a total area of 70.38 hectares, which lies to the east of Fuchengmen of 2nd Ring Road, to the west of Xisi North Street and Xisi South Street, to the north of Yangrou Hutong, Taipingqiao Hutong, Damaxian Hutong, Jinshifang Hutong and Minkang Hutong, and to the south of Xisi Bei Toutiao, Zhaodengyu Road, Dachaye Hutong, Donggongjiang Hutong and Xigongjiang Hutong.
As the most important road in the west of old Beijing, this area firstly formed in the Yuan Dynasty and was continually used in this way up to the Ming and Qing Dynasty. This area has a lot of cultural relics and commercial buildings along the street with convenient traffic. There are many cultural relics under state protection such as Miaoying Temple, White Pagoda and Temple of Emperors of Successive Dynasties in China and cultural relics under city protection such as the Former Residence of Lu Xun, Guangji Temple, as well as Xisi Jiaolou and several courtyards.
