Dashilan Area

With an area of 47.09 hectares, Dashilan Area is a comprehensive traditional cultural area combining folk custom toursim, traditional Beijing’s business and shopping with residence. Stores mainly lie in the Dashilan Toutiao, Dashilan Street, Dashilan West Street and Meishi Street, such as Ruifuxiang, Tongrentang, Buyingzhai and other time-honored brands. Meanwhile, there used to be plenty of banks, money markets, guildhalls, theatres, churches, temples and other historic buildings and places which now are used as dwellings. This area is a historical and cultural area with profound traditional street culture, mainly used for business and residence.

Buildings in this area were mostly constructed during late Qing Dynasty and the period of the Republic of China. Though there are few cultural relics, there are many valuable historic and old buildings coordinated with traditional features. Since traditional features in this area are well preserved, the changes of old Beijing city from the Jin Dynasty, Yuan Dynasty and Ming Dynasty to Qing Dynasty can be reflected.
