42 Themed Events and 16.9 Billion Yuan Sales: 2018 Beijing Xidan International Fashion Festival Concluded
2018 Beijing Xidan International Fashion Festival came to a successful end recently. With "Fashion, Culture, Quality and Life" as the core theme, this year’s fashion festival has launched a series of promotions in the Xidan commercial area as the main venue, and Beijing Fun and the Financial Street as branch venues. During the festival, Xicheng District’s key retail stores, restaurants, time-honored brands, supermarkets and specialty stores have launched series of promotional and sales activities.
Consumers enjoyed fashion and delicacy feasts during the two-month fashion festival. According to statistics, key businesses in Xicheng District have launched more than 100 promotional activities under 42 topics during the festival, achieving a social retail sales of 16.92 billion yuan, an increase of 4.6 percentage points year-on-year.
8 themed events including "Charming Xicheng District" fashion show, experiencing day in Beijing Fun, coffee tasting activity, love letters exhibition in Xidan Joy City, "No Boundaries" art market, reading activity in Beijing Books Building, and "Arts Time" contemporary art exhibition in the Seasons Place have presented personalized consumption.
The second "Fashion Popular Food" online selection activity attracted 28 fashion restaurants in Xidan and the Financial Street to launch distinctive dishes. During the festival, sales of catering companies participating in the selection activity reached 87.54 million yuan, an increase of 13.7 percent over the same period last year. In addition, nearly 100 catering companies that have cooperated with financial institutions launched 46 promotions and achieved sales of 50.34 million yuan.
It’s also worth mentioning that "Record Development and Display Achievements" historical materials exhibition of the Xidan commercial area to mark the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening up opened in the Xidan Commercial Culture Museum during the festival, co-hosted by Xicheng District Commission of Commerce, Xicheng District Archives Bureau and the Xichang’anjie Sub-District Office of Xicheng District People’s Government. It brought together fashionable and popular elements from the early days of the reform and opening up in the 1980s to the present. The exhibition, with videos played in the site, vividly showed the changes of commerce in the past 40 years and the tremendous changes brought to the lives of consumers. A large amount of historical materials and photos showed the development of the Xidan commercial area.
In addition, 15 new stores opened in Xidan Joy City, the Seasons Place and the YO!FUN! food square in Xidan Huawei Building during the festival. In modern commerce, the introduction and cooperation of brands reflects the feature of commerce, and brand effect of the fan economy has greatly enhanced the composite competitiveness of commerce.
