Headquarters of "Silk Road International League of Theaters" Settled in Xicheng District

On March 27, the headquarters of the "Silk Road International League of Theaters" was formally settled in Xicheng District and an unveiling ceremony was held at Beijing Tianqiao Art Building. It is a large-scale multilateral international performing arts industry platform initiated by China Arts and Entertainment Group. At present, the league has 86 members from 32 countries and regions and 2 international organizations, boasting rich international performing arts resources.

With location advantage of Xicheng District as the capital’s core functional area and rich performing arts resources of the Tianqiao Performing Arts Area, the "Silk Road International League of Theaters" will build its headquarters into an "international performing arts hub", to create an "international performing arts chain" taking Tianqiao as its central joint, to promote cultural exchanges and cooperation between countries and regions along the Silk Road and Beijing and Xicheng District, to attract more performing arts resources to enter Xicheng District and be settled in the Tianqiao area, and to promote the performing arts brand "Beijing Tianqiao" in the world.

After the headquarters of the "Silk Road International League of Theaters" was settled in Xicheng District, the first original show, the opera Marco Polo will be staged at the Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center by the end of May this year. And after the performance in Beijing, the opera will also tour the countries along the Silk Road.

The headquarters will also invite its members to participate in the Fifth China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS). As one of the organizers of this year’s CIFTIS, the League of Theaters will organize theme seminar to discuss the innovative integration of the music industry in the globalization process, and hold a joint exhibition of the Silk Road international theaters to exhibit a number of excellent domestic and foreign performing arts and cultural projects.
