2017 five-a-side football league for organizations directly under Beijing Xicheng District Committee of the Communist Part of China (CPC) kicked off on October 31. During next one week, about 200 players of 15 teams from 23 organizations will compete in the match.

The five-a-side football league is co-held by the Committee of Organizations Directly under Beijing Xicheng District Committee of the CPC, Xicheng District Bureau of Sports and the trade union of the organizations. This football league is a nearly 20 years old traditional sport popular with staff of the organizations. This year’s event is the second session since it’s changed into a five-a-side football league in 2016, winning warm welcome and active participation from the organizations.

The five-a-side football is a variation of association football in which each team fields five players, not the usual 11 ones. Other differences from football include a smaller pitch, smaller goals and a smaller football, as well as a reduced game duration.
